Well done girls!
The BUPA Great Women's 10k Run took place for the third successive year and last year over 2,500 women took part in the popular event. The six-mile run, for women aged 15 and over of all abilities, was organised by Nova International, the group behind the Bupa Great North Run. The course started at Seaburn Park and also included a 300m run along Roker beach as well as Roker Park.
The girls ran in their kits and were joined by player's mums and committee members, celebrities and thousands of fun-runners, along with some of the world's top female athletes, who led the field. Channel 5 covered the event and interviewed some of the players.
Well done to all who took part.
