FRIENDLIES UPDATE
With less than a fortnight before the start of the new season, Sunderland WFC continued their pre-season, with two friendlies against Middlesbrough and Whitley Bay.
Sunderland travelled to Middleborough on Tuesday evening and were held to a 2-2 draw after twice coming from behind. Sunderland’s goals were scored by Kelly McDougall and Natalie Gutteridge.
On Thursday evening, their opponents were Whitley Bay. Sunderland won the game 7-0, with goals from Kelly McDougall, Abby Holmes, Sarah Danby, Natalie Gutteridge and Sophie Williams (3).
This Sunday (10 Aug) Sunderland reserves are away against Team Northumbria (Coach Lane Campus, Newcastle, NE7 7XA) with a 11.15am kick off.
