The new group format for the Premier League Cup will see Sunderland WFC come up against fellow Premier League side Leeds United (August 29^th), Leeds City Vixens (September 12^th) and will also include a local derby against Newcastle United (September 12^th).

The draw sees seven regionalised groups, with one National Division team in each; however, Group 7 includes both Sunderland and Leeds.

The two best-placed teams in each group and the best two third placed teams then progress to the knockout stages. These teams will then compete in the usual knockout fashion from the last 16 onwards.
