23 April 2011
The Ladies were the Guests of Honour at The Stadium of Light for Sunderland’s home game vs Wigan.

SAFC Chairman Niall Quinn greeted us in the main reception area and chatted about our successful season, while Chief Exec Steve Walton paid us a visit to add his best wishes as we took our VIP seats in Executive Box 7.

At 2.40 pm we were escorted onto the pitch and presented to the supporters as Women’s Premier League Champions. As skipper Steph Bannon held the Trophy aloft we proudly soaked up the applause of the appreciative crowd. Even the Sunderland players stopped their warm up to congratulate the Lady Black Cats.

All in all it was an unforgettable finale to our brilliant season and to cap it all Sunderland AFC stormed to a comfortable 4-2 victory!

(We would like to believe that we were an inspiration for their success.....)

Thanks to everyone at SAFC from everyone at SWFC.

What a Day!
