First half headed goals from Natalie Gutteridge, following a free-kick by Vicky Greenwell, and Rachel Furness from a Kelly McDougall corner, gave the Wearsiders the points. The Lady Black Cats now require just four points from their remaining two league games, away at Aston Villa and Cardiff, to claim successive National Premier League Titles.
